^^ Correction

Actually I don't always delete the feed. I have a special folder called "OVER 9000" that I drop overexcited feeds like Joystiq into. I can poke about it during a coffee break without feeling like I have to read everything.

My criterion?

I put all related feeds into a single google reader folder (gaming, cooking, etc). If that folder ever reaches more than 100 posts before I can read it, I delete the feed that posts the most. I value width rather than volume in my rss browsing.

Sure, I may want to read some of those feeds. But I probably never will. So out they go.
